Q - I want to know more about the Collier County Homestead Exemption?
A - Collier County has provided tax relief in the form of a Homestead Exemption, or discount on the assessed value of full time resident’s property, for many years. This link will provide detailed and general information regarding the Exemption.


Q - I’m over 55 and I’d like to know about communities reserved for persons over 55? Many Collier County Planned Communities are reserved for persons over 55.
A - As the name implies, no one under 55 may have permanent residence there. But there are provisions for visitors, family, handicapped, etc. See the link: Collier County Planning.


Q - What does buying in a CCD involve.
A - Buying in a CCD (Community Development District) is an undertaking that calls for careful examination of the conditions under which you are making this purchase.
In the usual context, it means that the project developer used a bond to pay the of common facilities and infrastructure. Typically, the owners in the subdivision are billed periodically for the repayment of that bond. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but the buyer must be very observant of the actual full price of the residence he is
buying ..... including the bond repayment fee.
